资源简介:
A brown clay jug, hand-thrown on a wheel, was made in the Andrychów pottery centre. The vessels made in this area were usually covered with dark brown, almost black coloured glaze. The jug with one ear has a bulging belly, a short, wide neck and is finished with two rings at the mouth with a spout. The convex ornament was pressed with a die and engraved. It consists of a medallion with the Virgin Mary and the inscription "Souvenir from Calvarya" as well as two angels and two smaller medallions. On the sides of the vessel, a pattern of leaves and a flower was impressed, and below the belly horizontal grooves were carved. Holy water was brought from pilgrimage centres in this type of jugs. The vessel was last used around 1890.
