New waste management in metropolitan France - Proposals

The MEL wished to affirm a new ambition in waste management in order to:

\- Optimising the quality of its service and controlling costs;

\- Respond in an innovative way to environmental challenges by minimising waste at source and maximising the recovery of waste produced, in particular through the widespread sorting of plastic packaging, the collection of bio-waste at source, the separate collection of glass, etc.

Thus, it has drawn up a framework document called the Master Plan for Household Waste (SDDMA) which determines the objectives and operation of the new waste management service, which was adopted in April 2021.
