Antonospora locustae is an intracellular parasite infecting more than 100 Orthopteran species. Although the parasite is used as a biological control agent infecting against locusts and grasshoppers, the mechanism of infection remains unclear at molecular level. The genomes of this group are among the smallest known eukaryotic genomes and they also have very high genome density. Antonospora locustae genome is approximately 3.1 Mb, organized in 17 chromosomes. Although the genomic study of Antonospora locustae has great progress, the aspect about the molecular research especially the research related with the host recognition is nearly blank. Here we have assembled a complete set of chromosomes.
