The transcriptome of mesenchymal stromal cells of the smooth muscle layer from the large and small intestines

In this study, we performed bulk RNA-seq using the large and small intestinal PDGFRa+ cells of the muscle layer to compare differential gene expression and estimate differences in the function of PDGFRa+ cells. While PDGFRa+ cells in both tissues showed similar transcriptome profiles, we found differences in gene expressions associated with channels, transporters, and fibrosis, suggesting that PDGFRa+ cells may have different functions in different gastrointestinal sites.
