This dataset contains railway line density data for countries along the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2010. It is calculated as the total length of actually operating railways in each country in that year divided by the country's land area, and serves as an important indicator for measuring a country's transportation capacity. The data is sourced from the World Bank, and the unit of railway density is kilometers of railway per million square kilometers. This dataset can directly reflect the transportation capacity of countries along the BRI, and also indirectly mirror the economic development status and development needs of these countries. It plays an important reference role in the joint development between China and various countries along the BRI. Given that railways drive economic growth, and railway transportation is indispensable in the current context of close ties between China and other countries, railway-related data is critically important.
