资源简介:

This study investigates the effects of captivity on the bacterial microbiome of the microbat species Mops condylurus by examining 16S rRNA genes from fecal samples collected from wild-caught bats (pre-capture) and from the same bats following four-six weeks of captivity (post-capture). We have focussed on this specific microbat as it is a potential reservoir host for the Ebola virus and likely contributed to the 2014 West African Ebola outbreak. These datasets and findings are relevant for researchers who aim to investigate the virus-reservoir host interface in vivo by addressing the impacts of captivity on the bacterial landscape.
