De novo genome sequencing and assembly of a Brazilian Trypanosoma vivax (Pantanal strain).. Trypanosoma vivax strain:RM-2024

Trypanosoma vivax is a hemoflagellate parasite responsible for causing trypanosomiasis in a wide range of hosts, particularly cattle, sheep, goats, and horses. It is well known for causing bovine trypanosomiasis, a disease of great veterinary importance, with a substantial economic impact on the agricultural sector, especially in regions such as Africa. This project aims to sequence the genome of a novel T. vivax strain, called Pantanal, using Illumina NextSeq and de novo assembly.
