Laboratory study of bacterial encounter rate to a rising droplet

The encounter rate of bacteria to a rising droplet is studied here. The dataset contains the laboratory measurements of motile bacteria, Pseudomonas (P62), and passive polystyrene particles (1um) encountering an oil droplet pinned in a microfluidic channel. Files included are raw and processed image sequences of experiments, 3D particle positions, particle trajectories, and velocity fields. Three oil droplet sizes are measured. Each droplet and particle suspensions are subject to seven relative flow velocities which emulates the different advection or rising velocity.
