Metagenomic analysis of methanogenic microbial community in a trickle bed reactor

The microbiome growing on different packing materials was monitored via metagenomic shotgun sequencing in three independent trickle bed reactors fed with carbon dioxide and molecular hydrogen and with a recirculating medium setting. Analyses were performed by progressively increasing the amount of inputted gasses, i.e., via decreasing the gas retention time.
