Salivary Oral Microbiome Signatures in Kostmann Syndrome

Kostmann syndrome (KS) or severe congenital neutropenia is very rare type of severe congenital neutropenia characterized by extremely low levels of mature neutrophils. Although treatment with recombinant human granulocyte colonystimulating factor improves the control of infections including periodontitis, many patients still encounters periodontal disease despite improved neutrophil counts. Therefore the goal of this project is to characterize the oral microbiome patterns in saliva from patients with KS.
