Molecular Surveillance of Bacterial Pathogens in Tilapia Aquaculture in Peru

This project aims to conduct molecular epidemiological surveillance of bacterial pathogens affecting tilapia (Oreochromis spp.) aquaculture in Peru. The focus is on the identification, genome sequencing, and comparative analysis of key pathogenic bacteria such as Streptococcus agalactiae. Genomic data generated in this study will contribute to understanding the distribution, virulence, and antimicrobial resistance profiles of pathogens impacting fish health and productivity in Peruvian aquaculture systems.
