Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service Digital Archives

This collection is a parent collection for digital archives submitted to ADS that fall under Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service collecting remit. Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service (SCCAS) is the final repository for all archaeological archives excavated in Suffolk. Their role is to collect and curate Suffolk's archaeological archives and ensure their accessibility to researchers and members of the public in perpetuity. The documentary and finds archives are stored in our offices at Bury St. Edmunds and from April 2022 all digital archives are to be deposited with the ADS to ensure their long-term preservation and accessibility. Digital archives deposited prior to April 2022 are held by SCCAS.
