资源简介:

This record provides high-resolution maps and a GIS-compatible vector dataset associated with the manuscript Abbate et al. (2026). The GIS dataset contains the eight climatic regions proposed for wheat production in Paraguay. The regionalization was developed using high-resolution CHELSA v2.1 gridded monthly temperature and precipitation data for April–September over the 2000–2021 period. Initial classifications were generated using k-means clustering and evaluated using the Davies–Bouldin Index (DBI). Geographic continuity and administrative boundaries were considered in selecting the final eight-region classification. The GIS layer is provided in ESRI Shapefile format and includes the regional identifier, descriptive names and alphanumeric abbreviations in English and Spanish, region area, and the departments included in each region. The coordinate reference system is SIRGAS 2000 (EPSG:4674). Soil information from the LAC-SOTER database is complementary to the climatic regionalization and was not used as a clustering variable. Contents Files Mean_air_temperature.jpg and Accumulated_precipitation.jpg: high-resolution version of Fig. 1 (a) isotherms of mean air temperature and (b) isohyets of accumulated precipitation, for April–September, averaged over the 2000–2021 period, used for the delineation of wheat regions. Numbers indicate the region (Fig. 4b); departamental capital cities and meteorological stations used for validation of the gridded climate data, are indicated. Files Major_soil_groups.jpg and Wheat_climatic_regions_Paraguay.jpg: high-resolution version of Fig. 4 (a) major soil groups for each wheat regions of Paraguay, according to the LAC-SOTER database and (b) map of wheat regions of Paraguay, showing the Arabic numeral, descriptive name and alphanumeric abbreviation assigned to each region.; departmental boundaries are shown as thin lines. Numbers within the regions correspond to the proposed regional classification. Files GIS-compatible vector dataset (ESRI Shapefile) corresponding to Fig. 4b.
