Barriers to participation in research as perceived by medical students _Abeer Atta Elmannan et al,.sav

A cross-sectional survey was carried out to investigate students` views about research, and to identify the barriers preventing them from participation in research projects . The study targeted Year 4 and Year 5 medical students in the College of Medicine in Qassim University. A total 230 students particiapted in the study. Submitted responses were exported from Google forms to MS Excel 2010 for data cleaning and coding. Subsequently, the dataset was sent to SPSS 24.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL) for statistical analysis. Descriptive statistics was used to present categorical data in frequencies and proportions The perceptions of students were assessed using a 16-item questionnaire. The mean scores of students` perceptions were compared between students using Mann-Whitney test .Factors associated with students` perception of research barriers were analyzed using four separate logistic regression models <br> The an online questionnaire which was used in this study was adapted from a previous study undertaken by Achi <em>et al.</em>, with permission from the authors .
