Navigating Parker Solar Probe: Orbit Determination Experience from Venus-1 to Venus-6 Flyby

A summary of navigational experience for the Parker Solar Probe mission is presented covering the time between the first Venus flyby and leading into the sixth Venus flyby. A total of seven Venus gravity assists are used to lower perihelion to 9.86 solar radii. Here we present details for how the complex dynamics on the spacecraft are modeled operationally, namely solar radiation pressure. Important mission events are shown which demonstrate the high level of navigation accuracy achieved thus far. Orbit determination results are presented including spacecraft reconstructions, predicted state uncertainty, and statistical analysis involved in maneuver execution decisions.
