资源简介:
This series consists of the returns to the Electoral Commissioner from the referendum held in New South Wales on 1 May 1976. The referendum proposed the adoption of daylight saving in New South Wales on a permanent basis. Each return has been submitted by the Returning Officer of each New South Wales electorate and records the number of yes, no and informal votes for that electorate. The ballot paper for the referendum stated "At present there is a period commonly called 'daylight savings' by which time is advanced by one hour for the period commencing on the last Sunday in October in each year and ending on the first Sunday in March in the following year. Are you in favour of daylight savings?" Voters were asked to answer yes or no to the question. The result of the referendum was 1,882,770 electors in favour; 868,900 against and 35,507 informal votes. (1)Endnotes(1) Justice and Attorney General, 2010. Daylight Savings in New South Wales.
