Gene expression profiling of Lactuca sativa under salt stress and far-red light

Lactuca sativa 'Olof' seedlings were exposed to two abiotic stress conditions in addition to a control treatment: (1) supplemental far-red light, simulating a low red to far-red light ratio, and (2) salt stress, induced by adding 100 mM NaCl to the growth medium. To capture early transcriptional responses before significant developmental changes occurred, seedlings were exposed to the treatments for only 24 hours before bulk root and leaf tissues were collected.
