Intercropping soybeans and corn is a key strategy to achieve stable corn production and expanded soybean cultivation. Sichuan has been promoting this technology for a long time, but pest, disease, and weed pressures have increased year by year. There is a lack of corn and soybean varieties that are resistant to these pests and weeds and can tolerate herbicides. The occurrence patterns of pests, diseases, and weeds in different regions, as well as the main technical parameters for their control, are not clearly defined. An integrated technology system has yet to be established. In particular, there is a lack of herbicides suitable for both monocot and dicot crops, and there is a shortage of simplified and intelligent plant protection equipment. To address these bottlenecks, this project aims to screen for germplasm resources that are resistant to pests, diseases, and herbicides, develop broad-spectrum biopesticides, research nano-coatings, and implement precise application of new fungicides (insecticides) and herbicides. It will also integrate multiple pheromone-based integrated control methods, innovate major pest, disease, and weed prediction and control technologies based on information technology, and develop intelligent plant protection equipment. The project will propose indicators for pest and disease control and green control technology pathways, optimize key technologies, and integrate four major technical models: new resistance source screening and creation, integrated physical pheromone control, new material and agent development, and intelligent plant protection. It will aim to build an intelligent and scaled-up green control technology system for intercropping soybeans and corn, and promote it through demonstration projects.
