TIMP3 promotes the maintenance of embryonic neural progenitor cells in the neocortex

In this project, we examined the roles of TIMP3, a regulator of ECM remodeling, in regulation of mouse embryonic neural progenitor cells (NPCs). We found that TIMP3 promotes undifferentiated state of embryonic NPCs in the developing neocortex. To investigate the underlying mechanism, we performed RNA sequencing analysis of neocortical NPC samples with or without overexpression of TIMP3.
