VPRS 15032 Correspondence Journal, Surveyor-General

This series consists of the correspondence journals of the Surveyor-General's Branch of the Department of Crown Lands and Survey (VA 538). It was used to record and register on a daily basis the correspondence referred to this branch for attention and action by other branches of the Department (eg Occupation branch or the Secretary's Branch).Under the date heading for each day, details given are the journal number allocated, the original correspondence or file number, the survey district, the name and parish of the correspondent, a summary of the content of the piece of correspondence and how it was disposed of. This latter category consisted of the file movement markings.
