<b>Soil nematode responses to natural forest conversion into chestnut plantations</b>

The experimental site was located near Guting Village (Fujian Province, China, 27°38′ N and 118°16′E), within the Wuyi Mountain range, a subtropical montane forest ecosystem. The forest was characterized by a Fagaceae-dominated canopy, featuring four <i>Castanopsis</i> species (<i>carlesii</i>, <i>eyrei</i>, <i>fargesii</i>, <i>tibetana</i>), accompanied by <i>Schima superba</i> (<i>Theaceae</i>) and the evergreen oak <i>Cyclobalanopsis glauca</i>. The soils at the site were developed from granitic parent material and are classified as red earths, corresponding to Oxisols in the USDA Soil Taxonomy system. The site is subjected to a subtropical monsoon climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. Mean annual rainfall is <i>ca</i> 1800 mm distributed unevenly across the year and the mean annual air temperature is<i> ca</i> 18°C.
实验样地位于中国福建省亭古村周边(北纬27°38′,东经118°16′),地处武夷山脉,属亚热带山地森林生态系统。该森林群落的冠层以壳斗科(Fagaceae)植物为优势类群,包含4种锥属(Castanopsis)物种:米槠(Castanopsis carlesii)、红锥(Castanopsis eyrei)、栲树(Castanopsis fargesii)及西藏锥(Castanopsis tibetana),伴生有山茶科(Theaceae)的木荷(Schima superba)与常绿栎类青冈(Cyclobalanopsis glauca)。样地土壤由花岗岩母质发育而成,归类为红壤,对应美国农业部土壤分类系统(USDA Soil Taxonomy)中的氧化土(Oxisols)。该区域受亚热带季风气候影响,干湿季分明;年均降水量约1800毫米,年内分布不均,年均气温约18℃。
