Pasteurellosis in farmed lumpsuckers, Cyclopterus lumpus, has been an emerging threat for Norwegian aquaculture during the past years and genomic characterization of the causative agent is essential for understanding the biology of the species and devise an efficient preventive strategy. The novel genome of a highly pathogenic Pasteurella atlantica strain was sequenced and submitted to the GenBank.
