资源简介:
A total of 20 bulk sediment samples from four trenches along a west-facing fault scarp near Ridgway, Colorado, were floated to recover organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon analysis. Three detrital charcoal samples also were examined. These samples were recovered from colluvium in the vertical trench walls. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated. Because many of the samples will date the same event or horizon, four charcoal samples (one from each of the four trenches) were selected for AMS radiocarbon analysis as initial test to check for consistency. Based on the dates obtained from these four samples, three additional samples were selected for AMS radiocarbon analysis.
