Materials showing spin-electric (SE) effects are a subclass of magnetoelectric materials. The SE effect allows for electric control of spins, which has significant advantages for quantum information technology, as it is faster, more energetically convenient, and more space-confined with respect to the use of the magnetic field. Among the electron spin-based qubits, molecules have several advantages, but the SE mechanisms in molecules are only partially understood. A significant amount of attention has been paid to the relevance of vibrational modes in mononuclear lanthanide complexes. We want to use a platform based on antiferromagnetically coupled spin frustrated an Fe3 spin triangle. The SE effect on similar Fe3 spin triangles has been detected. To deepen our understanding of the SE effect, a characterization of the vibrational modes involving the Fe atoms is of paramount importance and this can be effectively experimentally achieved by Nuclear Inelastic Scattering at ID14.
