Supplementary Data for "Toward a Domain-Agnostic Definition of the Digital Twin: A Property-Based Position"

This dataset provides the complete literature review documentation supporting the article "Toward a Domain-Agnostic Definition of the Digital Twin: A Property-Based Position" (Tcaciuc & Bouriaud). It contains the full audit trail for the 173-article snowball-sampled corpus underlying the article's property-based Digital Twin framework, enabling independent verification of source selection and novelty-boundary decisions. Two files are included: Supplementary File S1 — Literature Inclusion Log (Supplementary_File_S1_Literature_Inclusion_Log.xlsx): Reference-by-reference log of all 173 corpus articles. For each entry: citation key, assigned relevance level, synthesis and selection rationale, a high-proximity-threat flag, and up to four key quotes paired with their analytical usage in the article. This file documents how each source was read, weighted, and incorporated into the structural, temporal, and functional property synthesis (Sections 3–6 of the article). Supplementary File S2 — Proximity Assessment Log (Supplementary_File_S2_Proximity_Assessment_Log.xlsx): Systematic novelty-boundary assessment for the same corpus. For each entry: author(s), article title, a binary high-proximity-threat flag, and a rationale distinguishing the article's contribution (a property-based qualification gate coupled to a no-twin governance decision) from each candidate source. Referenced in the article as the basis for the positioning analysis in Section 2 (Background and Research Gap). Both logs were produced through iterative backward/forward snowball sampling until thematic saturation, as described in the article's Methodology section.
