资源简介:
Helen Mayer Harrison and Newton Harrison, Bonnie Ora Sherk, Mel Chin, Fritz Haeg, and Fallen Fruit create public art projects with the purpose of improving the environment of a specific location as well as the lives of the people who inhabit it. From Land Art to Social Practice: Environmental Art Projects by Helen Mayer Harrison and Newton Harrison, Bonnie Ora Sherk, Mel Chin, Fritz Haeg, and Fallen Fruit examines projects by each artist or group to show the evolution of public, environmentally-focused art projects from the Early Environmental Movement of the 1970s to present-day Social Practice. While the projects discussed revolve around various environmental issues, they all encourage a more sustainable and unified community. These case studies investigate the artists' use of performance, research and collaboration, and public participation to create a conversation, and to inspire activism about environmental topics such as soil regeneration, the reconceptualization of land use, and urban agriculture.
