Dataset on the neuropsychological assessment and microbiota analysis of elderly people with Alzheimer's disease and without cognitive impairment

The dataset comprises assessments of 25 patients with Alzheimer's disease and 25 healthy elderly controls. Participants were assessed on their cognitive functioning, emotional state, level of functionality, adherence to a Mediterranean lifestyle and gut microbiota composition (abundances). Additionally, descriptive variables such as sex, age, education, smoking status, alcohol consumption and body mass index were also included.
