Recreating the inherent crypt-villus structure, multimodal biomechanics, and dynamic microenvironment of the intestine remains a key challenge in in vitro intestinal modeling and etiopathological analysis. This project designs a novel dynamic folding intestinal chip (DFIC) with spatiotemporally programmable features, recreating the crypt-villus axis microenvironment. The DFIC reconstructs the dynamic microenvironment of the intestine with unprecedented fidelity, providing a revolutionary technical platform for studying intestinal pathophysiology, host-microbe interactions, and drug development, and has broad implications for disease modeling and therapeutic discovery.
