SWAAG HFS19 Excavation Area 1

Area 1 was designed to re-open a section of the 2018 excavation and establish the relationship between the potential hut-circle and the rubble/cobble bank around its northern and eastern extents. It was found that the two were contemporary, with the bank being built up against the back wall of the building (likely to eaves height) and then finished with a decorative deposit of cobbles and crinoidal limestone chunks. When the back wall of the building collapsed (or was robbed) the bank slid forward across the flagged floor of the building. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
