This dataset contains 440 simulated cases of ampacity and thermal resistance for underground power cables, generated using CYMCAP software. The dataset is organized into three subsets: (i) 374 cases for model training (231 kV), (ii) 46 cases for independent validation (231 kV), and (iii) 20 cases for cross-voltage evaluation (60 kV). Each case includes 11 variables describing installation geometry, thermal properties, and electrical performance: backfill trench width, backfill height, backfill depth, soil thermal resistivity, backfill thermal resistivity, concrete thermal resistivity, cable spacing, external duct diameter, burial depth, thermal resistance, and cable ampacity. The dataset is suitable for applications such as ampacity prediction, sensitivity analysis, thermal modeling, and benchmarking of machine learning models for underground cable systems. This dataset is distributed under the CC BY 4.0 license.
