Themira biloba Raw sequence reads

Themira biloba is a Dipteran with a novel appendage on the abdomen. The appendage has complex morphology, is jointed, is sexually dimorphic occurring only in males, and develops from histoblast nests rather than imaginal disks. The appendage is not found outside of Sepsidae. RNA-Seq was performed on the appendage-bearing segment in males, the corresponding female segment, and the neighboring segment in males to identify genes associated with appendage development.
