An Examination of Students' Metaphorical Perceptions of Universal Design across Different Faculties

This dataset accompanies the study “An Examination of Students' Metaphorical Perceptions of Universal Design across Different Faculties.” It contains anonymized qualitative data collected from 202 university students at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University during the 2024–2025 academic year.
Participants completed an open-ended prompt (“Universal Design is like … because …”) to express their metaphorical perceptions of universal design (UD). The dataset includes participants’ demographic information and written metaphor statements. Each entry provides the following variables: Order, Faculty, Age, Gender, Grade, Metaphor, and Explanation of Metaphor.
The dataset represents the raw responses as collected from participants and was used in the related study to examine students’ metaphorical perceptions of universal design.
