HIV infection has been described to accelerate brain aging and to affect the progression of neurological disorders related to cellular senescence, although the responsible mechanisms are still unknown. Herein, the study combined in silico, in vitro, and in vivo experiments using brains from SIV-infected rhesus macaques and the single-cell analysis of mice brain cells.
