Dataset and R Code for Correlates of Contestation Against Religious Authorities in Medieval Inquisitorial Testimonies

This deposit contains the dataset and R code necessary to reproduce all statistical analyses reported in the article “Correlates of Contestation Against Religious Authorities in Medieval Inquisitorial Testimonies”. The study examines 4,433 testimonies drawn from 20 inquisition registers across Latin Christendom (1243–1522), investigating how explicit contestations of religious authority correlate with dissident religious affiliation, gender, urban context, and chronology.
