Diverse RNA interference strategies in early-branching metazoans

To annotate the RNA interference repertoire of the demosponge Amphimedon queenslandica, we sequenced the small RNAs of four developmental stages - pre-competent larvae, competent larvae, juvenile and adult. These data were used to document the miRNA, piRNA and endo-siRNA complement of this species and to monitor their dynamics over the course of development.
