The clusters in translational and reference corpora

Focusing on Timothy Wong’s English translations of the Chinese “Saturday School” stories, the investigation utilizes a parallel corpus of his translations and a reference corpus of contemporary literary translations. Lexical bundle extraction and comparison are conducted via WordSmith Tools to delineate style-specific patterns. The findings reveal a distinctive hybrid style: a dominant colloquial register, marked by verb‑based bundles and stance expressions, intertwines with academic features such as clause-based bundles.
