Analysis code and aggregate data for: Age- and sex-specific hip-fracture admission rates and in-hospital case fatality in Bulgaria, 2023-2025

Complete analysis code and aggregate data for the manuscript "Age- and sex-specific hip-fracture admission rates and in-hospital case fatality in Bulgaria, 2023-2025: national discharge aggregates compared with a single-region extrapolated incidence estimate". The deposit holds the tidied national hospital discharge aggregates released by the Bulgarian National Centre of Public Health and Analyses under the Access to Public Information Act (decision izh. No 2097 of 20 July 2026), the published inputs the analysis rests on, and every script that turns one into the other. No individual-level data are present and none were ever held by the authors: the release is a set of cell counts cross-tabulated by year, sex, age band, oblast, care setting and discharge outcome, carrying no patient identifier. Running the eight analysis scripts in the documented order regenerates all 23 artefacts used in the manuscript: 13 CSV outputs, 7 tables and 3 figures. This was verified byte for byte from a clean copy run at a different absolute path. A deterministic audit script reconciles every number in the manuscript against the generated outputs.
