资源简介:
Areni-1 is an archaeological cave site in southern Armenia that has yielded a large amount of exceptionally well preserved archaeobotanical material dating to the Late Chalcolithic (4300–3400 cal BC) and Medieval (4th–18th centuries AD) periods. Among this material were grains identified as broomcorn millet (as Panicum miliaceum L.) and carbon dated to 1118±35 BP. From one of these medieval millet grains ancient DNA was extracted and a high-quality nuclear genome (17x converage). This ancient genome was compared to genomes from modern varieties of broomcorn millet for changes associated with the domestication process.
