Reperfusion injury in mouse lung transplantation

This study demonstrates that donor monocytes/macrophages in lung allografts protect against cold ischemia-reperfusion-induced inflammation. Their pre-depletion exacerbates inflammation and damage, providing insight into Primary Graft Dysfunction's unpredictability and suggesting M2 macrophages as a therapeutic target for prevention.
