Synthetic Population for Île-de-France

Synthetic populations are essential for agent-based simulations, enabling applications in transport modelling, land-use planning, energy consumption analysis, and beyond. A key challenge lies in learning the underlying distribution from limited dataset to generate a larger, representative datasets. While numerous methods have been proposed, we note the lack of open-source, large-scale datasets. To address this gap, we propose this open-source and large-scale synthetic population dataset, at both the individual and household levels. These datasets are derived from the French census data, amde by the French Institute of Statistics (INSEE) and publicly available.

This dataset supports reproducible research, facilitates benchmarking, and is helpful for model selection in with limited data scenarios.
