Genomic DNA from the soil and algal crust at the base of a fruiting body of Lichenomphalia oreades was amplified using primers yielding ~300 bp including the D1 variable region of nLSU from fungi (except Ascomycota) and other eukaryotes then the mixed amplicon pool sequenced using MiSeq, in order to determine the primary fungal and algal associates.
