This project examines mRNA gene expression of Felis catus kidney and peripheral blood-derived macrophages either non-infected at 0 hours, or infected with feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV) for 2 or 17 hours at a multiplicity of infection of 2. This aimed to identify genes involved in early host response and disease pathogenesis resulting from FIVP infection and the impact of viral entry and or replication assembly on immune-related differentially expressed genes.
