StatÒmetro - Demographic indicators

StatÒmetro Dashboard - demographic indicators for the Municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Turin.

Indicators available:
- AVERAGE AGE: average age of the population;
- AVERAGE FEMALE AGE: the average age of the female population;
- AVERAGE AGE OF MALE: average age of the male population;
- DEPENDENCE INDEX: It is considered an indicator of economic and social relevance. The numerator is composed of the population that, due to age, is considered to be non-autonomous - i.e. dependent - and the denominator of the population group that, being in activity, should provide for its livelihood. It is calculated as the ratio between the population of non-active age (0-14 years and 65 years and over) and the population of active age (15-64 years), multiplied by 100;
- MASCOLINITY INDEX: draws the proportion of the male population in the population as a whole. It is calculated as the ratio of the male population to the female population, multiplied by 100;
- REPLACEMENT INDEX: estimates the ratio between those who are about to leave the labour market due to their age and those who are about to enter it;
- STRUCTURE INDEX: estimate the degree of ageing of this population group; The denominator of this indicator is the 25 younger active generations, which are intended to replace the 25 older generations, also active at the time of the indicator’s estimation. It is calculated as the ratio of the active elderly population (40-64 years old) to the active young population (15-39 years old), multiplied by 100;
- OLD YEAR INDEX: estimate the degree of population ageing. Values above 100 indicate a greater presence of elderly subjects compared to very young ones. It is calculated as the ratio of the population aged 65 and over to the population aged 0-14 years, multiplied by 100;
- GROWTH RATE 1 YEAR: percentage change in population compared to the previous year;
- GROWTH RATE 1 YEAR - FEMALE: percentage change in the female population compared to the previous year;
- GROWTH RATE 1 YEAR - MALE: percentage change in the male population compared to the previous year;
- GROWTH RATE 5 YEARS: Percentage change in population compared to the previous fifth year;
- MIGRATION RATE: estimate the ratio between the number of emigrants and the total population;
- IMMIGRATION RATE: estimate the ratio between the number of immigrants and the total population;
- MORTALITY RATE: estimate the ratio between the number of deaths and the total population. It is calculated as the ratio between the number of deaths in the year and the resident population, multiplied by 1,000;
- NATIONALITY RATE: estimate the ratio between the number of live births and the total population. It is calculated as the ratio of the number of live births of the year to the resident population, multiplied by 1,000.
