High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) data May 2023, from JC247 around the PAP-SO (Porcupine Abyssal Plain - Sustained Observatory) site.

This dataset comprises HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) samples taken from around the PAP-SO (Porcupine Abyssal Plain - Sustained Observatory) site in the North Atlantic in May 2023 during the research cruise JC247. Samples of 2000 mL were taken from the surface and sub-surface by National Oceanography Centre (NOC) scientists using a CTD. These samples were filtered onto GF/F filters which were then flash frozen using liquid nitrogen onboard. These samples were analysed at SHOM (French Navy Hydrographic and Oceanography Service), France using a Thermo Scientific UHPLC system. This data was collected for comparison of the Chl-a component with the fluorometric measurements made onboard cruise JC247 as part of the Climate-Linked Atlantic Sector Science (CLASS) project (NE/RO15953/1). The HPLC analysis was provided through a TNA (trans-national agreement) project 'Chloro-com', funded by MINKE (European Commission within the Horizon 2020 Programme (2014-2020), Grant Agreement No. 101008724).
