WGS and RNA-Seq were used to explore the genotypic and metabolic changes of Saccharomyces cerevisiae MT strain which with higher ethanol fermentation capacity in sucrose medium than WT strain. There were differences in the location and coding information of SNPs and InDels, and significant differences in the gene expression trends during fermentation. Specific genes of the significant trend profiles of MT strain were got by Venn diagram analysis. KEGG enrichment of these genes shown that the genes involved in sugar metabolism, MAPK pathway, fatty acid and amino acid degradation were mainly up-expression, while the genes involved in ribosome, fatty acid and amino acid biogenesis and oxidative phosphorylation were mainly down-expression.
