Preoperative Imaging Evaluation and Localisation of Parathyroid Glands in Secondary Hyperparathyroidism

The raw data including patients’ characteristics, the preoperative data, and preoperative and postoperative intact PTH levels of the 298 consecutive patients who underwent initial PTx for SHPT are shown in Table 1. The raw data of 177 patients whose intact PTH levels were <9 pg/mL on POD 1, including the location and number of removed PTGs during the initial PTx and consistency of preoperative evaluations using CT, US, or planar MIBI imaging and their combinations with the actual location of PTGs determined during the operation, are available in Table 2. The diagnostic evaluation is presented in Fig. 2. For recurrent and persistent SHPT, the location of PTGs and preoperative evaluation are also presented in Table 3.
