The Automatic Weather Stations (AWSs) in the Khumbu Valley were installed during the National Geographic Society Perpetual Planet Everest Expedition between 2019 and 2022. A total of six AWSs were deployed at elevations ranging from 3,810 m to 8,810 m above sea level and have been regularly maintained since installation.
