Nursing home fines and harm citations by county: CMS penalties, actual-harm, immediate-jeopardy and abuse citations
收藏资源简介:
For every US county with a Medicare- or Medicaid-certified nursing home, every state and territory, and the US: how many certified nursing homes and beds there are, how many times the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) fined them in the last three years and for how many dollars, how often and for how many days it denied payment, and how many health citations inspectors wrote at the actual-harm level or worse (scope and severity G to L), at the immediate-jeopardy level (J to L) and under the abuse, neglect and exploitation tags (F600 to F610), plus the share of rated homes with one star overall. Built each month from the four CMS Provider Data Catalog files behind Care Compare. Counts only: no facility names, addresses or certification numbers, and no resident data (CMS publishes none). 2899 records (status: P 2899). This is a count of public CMS inspection and penalty records, kept for marketing planning. A citation is an inspector's finding, not a court's; a fine can be reduced or withdrawn on appeal; and nothing here says any home or person did anything unlawful.
