Lymantria dispar asiatica isolate:FOH-2021A Genome sequencing and assembly

Genome assembly and annotation of two gypsy moths species, i.e. Lymantria dispar asiatica (Asian Gypsy Moth) and Lymantria dispar japonica (Japanese Gypsy Moth). These agressive defoliating insects represent a global threat towards North America's forest ecosystems. Full reference genome sequences of Lymantria dispar spp. will help better understand core biological characteristics of these Forest Alien Invasive Species (FAIS) and help develop better management policies and reduce the risk of future outbreaks.
