DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES

Digital transformation has significantly reshaped contemporary education by introducing innovative technologies that improve teaching, learning, and educational accessibility. In the context of inclusive education, digital technologies provide valuable opportunities to address the diverse needs of learners by promoting equitable access to educational resources, personalized instruction, and active participation. This paper examines the role of digital transformation in enhancing inclusive education, with particular emphasis on the opportunities and challenges associated with the integration of digital and assistive technologies into teaching and learning processes. The study explores the theoretical foundations of digital inclusion, highlighting the contributions of artificial intelligence, learning management systems, adaptive learning platforms, assistive technologies, and online educational resources in supporting students with diverse learning needs. At the same time, the paper discusses key challenges, including the digital divide, insufficient technological infrastructure, limited teacher digital competence, accessibility issues, and concerns related to data privacy and ethical use of educational technologies. Based on a comprehensive review of current literature and international perspectives, the study argues that successful digital transformation in inclusive education requires coordinated efforts involving educational policymakers, school leaders, teachers, technology developers, and families. The findings suggest that while digital transformation offers significant potential to improve educational equity and learner engagement, its effectiveness depends on strategic planning, continuous professional development, investment in accessible technologies, and the implementation of inclusive educational policies. Strengthening these dimensions can contribute to the development of more resilient, equitable, and learner-centered education systems.
